UPDATE: The Crescent City Cat Club is permanently closed. Sadly, this unique & amazing venture closed its doors in July 2021, leaving Louisiana and New Orleans without a cat cafe.

Ever been to a cat cafe and thought, “I wish I could stay here forever!” Well, you can at the Crescent City Cat Club! The New Orleans cat club is the only cat cafe in the country with a Guest Cottage. That’s right: a  New Orleans vacation rental, with cats!

Unique New Orleans Vacation Rental

Cat lovers now have a New Orleans destination and gathering place: the Crescent City Cat Club. But tourists looking for a unique New Orleans vacation rental will hit the jackpot with a stay in the Club’s Guest Cottage. Maybe you miss your own kitties when traveling. Or maybe you just need a great place to crash after seeing the New Orleans sights. Either way, the Guest Cottage at the Crescent City Cat Club is your spot. Cats are  the big attraction for some, and just a bonus for others.

Crescent City Cat ClubLocation, Location, Lo-CAT-ion!

Located in the enchanting Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, the Crescent City  Cat Club and Guest Cottage is the perfect home base for your New Orleans adventure. The Cat Cottage is steps away from the restaurants and clubs on Frenchman Street, and the quintessential jazz club The Spotted Cat Music Club is right around the corner. The French Quarter is a short walk away. Or you can catch the Rampart-St. Claude streetcar line to ride all the way to Central City. And of course you’ll come home to the comfort of cats at your Cat Cottage!

Cat Cafe + Guest Cottage = Oasis

Your stay at the Cat Club cottage lets you have as much or as little cat love as you desire. You’re not actually staying in the Cat Club itself, but across the shared private courtyard in your own separate, authentic New Orleans cottage. The cats love hanging out on the courtyard catio, and so will you. The kitties especially enjoy watching the world go by from the cat-level port holes in the fence. During Cat Club business hours, visitors are on site but not in your private cottage.

Sleep with Cats!

Your stay in the Guest Cottage includes daily access to the Cat Club, which cat cafe aficionados will recognize as a pretty sweet deal seeing as a full day pass at some cat cafes will set you back over fifty dollars. But one of the greatest things about this unique lodging is you can “check out” a cat or three for the night! That’s right: sleep with cats!

Because most visitors to the Guest Cottage are traveling, the Club has only had one kitty adopted after a “sleepover.” A cat named Stedman was adopted and now happily resides in New York with his fur-ever family.

The Cottage itself is well-appointed and delightful. Though it is a historical cottage, you’ll enjoy the modern expectations of air-conditioning, TV, and internet. Should you wish to cook, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a wonderful fresh market across the street that also offers prepared food. Of course this is the culinary mecca of New Orleans so we’d suggest going around the corner to a foody destination like St. Roch Market.

Join the Krewe of Crazy Cat Ladies Lundi Gras Party & Parade! February 24th
Join the Crescent City Cat Club Lundi Gras party and parade on Monday, February 24th. The party starts at 3, and and leads up to the 3rd annual Krewe of Crazy Cat Ladies (and Gents) parade, rolling out about 5 PM. Everyone is invited!

For extra merriment, dress up as a crazy cat lady or gent, or as a kitty cat! Crescent City has a selection of cat wear, including animal print everything, for you to make a costume out of, or just pluck something out of your costume closet. And the Club will help with your cat make-up!

Libations and snacks (including King Cake, of course) will be available, so come and get your drink on, as well as your costume. The Krewe will parade around the Marigny and perhaps the Bywater neighborhoods. Please come, represent the cats! Simone the Cat mobile will lead the parade, so bring your recycled beads to hand to the cat crowd.

  1. Oh my gosh, this is awesome! We’ve talked about stopping in New Orleans one time when we make the drive from Houston to South Florida, we will have to try to stay here. Our whole family are cat-lovers.

  2. If you love cats, I can see why this would be a pretty cool place to stay. I remember having some great cats and they weren’t much for trips, but I had one that loved them. This would have been great.
