Iowa is home to two outstanding cat cafes! Iowa’s very first cafe, Coffee Cats debuted in West Des Moines in 2020. With the recent opening of Press Paws Cat Cafe and Game Room in Burlington, the Hawkeye state gained its second cafe.
Coffee and Cats: All Day, All Week
Iowa is a state that takes both their cats and their coffee seriously. Both Coffee Cats WDM and the new Press Paws follow a winning formula of equal parts full service coffee shop and delightful cat lounge. With extensive open hours, both Iowa cafes aim to be THE community gathering place. Coffee Cats is open 6 days a week and over 70 hours while Press Paws is open over 90 hours and 7 days a week! Not only does position the cafes as a top daily destination for locals, it makes both cafes accessible for traveling cat cafe aficionados to visit. As Press Paws aptly states, “A charming mix of a cats, coffee and community.”
Note: The Sioux City cafe Coffee & Purrs is permanently closed as of February, 2024. As of January 5, 2024, The Siouxland Humane Society has removed their cats from Coffee & Purrs and ended their partnership.
