Louisiana has three cat cafes! Happily, a new New Orleans cat lounge opened in February of 2026. In Houma, the Second Chance Cat Cafe brings a full cat cafe experience to the Bayou state. Debuting in November 2025, the Second Chance Cat Cafe is a charming cafe experience with adoptable cats along with a menu of beverages and snacks.
About an hour north of New Orleans, The Calico Cat Cafe is an adoption lounge located in the small town of Folsom. The Calico Cat is the place to meet adoptable pets from Big Sky CARE and the wonderful Big Sky Ranch sanctuary. Enjoy a cup of organic coffee and fresh baked muffin, shop the retail store, or just relax and enjoy time with adoptable kittens and cats!
Is There a New Orleans Cat Cafe?
Yes, New Orleans has a brand new cat lounge! NOLA Cat Lounge is located in Central City neighborhood, easily accessible from all parts of the city. The new New Orleans cat lounge offers up the very heart of NOLA culture with a welcoming, happy vibe to share with the area’s top adoptable kitties from rescue partner, Louisiana SPCA.
The opening of NOLA Cat Lounge ends a five year absence of the cat cafe experience from the Crescent City scene. Previously, the city’s inaugural cat cafe was accompanied by a guest cottage and a cat mobile. Sadly the Crescent City Cat Club didn’t survive the pandemic, and it has taken until now get NOLA back on the cat cafe map. The region is solidly in good company with the border states of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas all home to a number of outstanding cat cafes.
