Dakota Cat Cafe Brews Up Excitement with Coffee Shop Opening

North Dakota’ s highly anticipated Dakota Cat Cafe has officially opened its doors -the coffee shop doors! Following a popular American cat cafe model, Dakota Cat Cafe will feature a cozy coffee shop paired with a cat lounge for feline enthusiasts. While the cat lounge is still in the works, the full-service coffee shop is now welcoming customers, brewing  buzz for the purr-fect experience to come. North Dakota’s first cat cafe is located in the Bismarck suburb of Lincoln.

This week’s coffee side launch allows owner Ashley Kneaval and her team to fine-tune operations while generating revenue to support the upcoming cat lounge. It’s the ideal way to build excitement before the cats join the scene.

Visitors to Dakota Cat Cafe can savor offerings from premier local businesses. The cafe proudly serves bold, small-batch coffee roasted by Coal Country Coffee, a local favorite.

Meanwhile, Crust Bakery delights with feline-themed cookies, cake pops, brownies, scones, and more. The extensive drink menu caters to all tastes, featuring classic and specialty coffee drinks, Red Bull Zoomies, and even nostalgic Root Beer Floats.

Establishing a strong coffee shop identity is a proven strategy for cat cafes. A steady income from cafe sales and merchandise—like T-shirts and mugs—ensures the kitties are fed and the lights stay on for years to come. Coffee fans will be delighted to hear that Dakota has plans for a drive-through service, making it even easier for Dakota to be the top coffee destination in the Bismarck area. 

 

When Will the Cats Arrive?

The cat lounge at Dakota Cat Cafe is expected to open in two to three months, with the full cat cafe experience ready by late summer or early fall. In the meantime, Dakota will work with their rescue partner Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue to bring special furry appearances in anticipation of the grand debut of onsite, adoptable kitties.
