North Carolina: Daily Mews **Permanently Closed**

The Daily Mews has announced it will be permanently closing its doors at the end of March 2024. Their final day will be March 31. After 6 years, nearly 600 cats adopted to furever homes, and immeasurable joy, the Daily Mews will leave pawprints on the heart of Charlotte. Wishing the wonderful folks at Daily Mews happy tails, happy trails aheard and sending much gratitude for the joy of the past 6 years.

Daily Mews announced their closure in a Facebook statement on 3/18/24:

For the past six years, Daily Mews has made a positive difference in the Charlotte community. With the support of our dedicated employees, animal rescue partners and customers, nearly six hundred cats have been placed in safe, loving, forever homes.

It is a mission we have undertaken with love, and have persevered and sustained our mission through many tough times, including the Covid pandemic, economic uncertainty, and feline health emergencies. We have always made the cats’ well-being our top priority, and we are proud of the happiness we’ve been able to bring to many wonderful pets and pet families.

At this time, we have made the very difficult decision that it is time to draw this chapter of our lives to a close. We have experienced some recent challenging events that contributed to this unfortunate outcome. Though we will greatly miss our role operating a cat cafe in Charlotte, we will continue to be active and involved in cat fostering and rescue.

Daily Mews will remain open to the public with our regular hours through the end of March. Our last day open will be Sunday, March 31. We will honor our commitments to boarding reservations at least through the end of March. If you have a cat lounge or boarding reservation after our closing date, we will issue a refund.

We do still have a colony of rescue cats residing with us, and our hope is to find them all homes before our closure. We welcome our customers and community to come and visit during these final days to say goodbye.
